Velvet

This figure is both really nice and a disaster all rolled into one. It started out fine, good color scheme, few mistakes and the promise of a great miniature. At this point, she was sitting atop the microwave waiting for more work, when I brushed her with my elbow and she fell head first into a large bowl of egg salad. I almost screamed. With heavy heart, I took her to the sink and briskly washed her under the tap. After the last vestige of egg-stuff was gone, she seemed to be in pretty good shape. The work carried on.

I did the cloak (my first go at flowers or anything of that nature) and though not tightly drawn, it looked okay. Then I realized I had to do some blending on the cloak. Now the details had been done so this posed a problem which in the end is quite noticeable. Finally, time to spray the mini (along with another that had a fresh pinch of ground pepper on it's base) and call it good. Naturally, I sprayed them side by each and when I checked them out after drying, she was covered in pepper! Lots of lessons to be learned with this one!
