Priestess of the Light

My very first 1999 Figure from Cell. She is actually a very nice sculpt, and I had a lot of fun painting her up.

The book was kind of neat to do, though in hindsight, I think I could have done far better. I guess I grew more ambitious towards the end of the project. The round glass healing potions (PLAY DIABLO!!!!) were the hardest thing I think. Trying to find examples of clear glass and a round shape as well is not easy! Lotsa vials and things... Anyhow, I settled on what you see, and added a touch of blue to the empty halves of the bottom two bottles to show the "clarity" of the situation...

All of the metals are done with the NMM (non-metallic metal) technique. Seems to get a little easier each time anyways. Probably my 4th figure I have tried this out on. The tube part was probably the trickiest bit, though I used my exacto knife handle as an example of the "shine". Also, the light blue areas were done with Vallejo colors which I am very pleased with. All I used to thin my paints this time was water.

This is a fun little thing I tried and hopefully I can smooth it out...

At our 3rd Alberta Painters meet, Harry Colquhoun shot some pics using his Uber camera and Macro light...

Pretty snappy looking.... Thanks Harry!
