Asurmen, the Hand of Asuryan

This is Asurmen of the Eldar from the Warhammer 40K Universe. He is my first 40K mini which is quite surprising actually... I painted him up for the Golden Goblin painting contest at the GW store in Kingsway Mall, Edmonton. I considered him "unfinished" at the time of entry, as I painted until 10:00 the night before, and had everything at least colored in nicely. He managed to win 3rd place in probably the toughest category at least! Afterwards, I added the symbology on his cloth and the trim on his cape, as well as the display base.

He is painted in Wraithbone armor, with wine clothing and firey gems.

I didn't want to paint a banner on his back, so I put an antenna from an Eldar Trooper (had to be the one with 20 gems on it of course) in the spot where the banner pole would normally sit. I also added the symbol under the tip of his helmet.

The base was also done after the contest in Edmonton, and the glyphs are all written on with my Micron pigma pen.

Overall, I am very happy with how he turned out, and even happier that finally, something will stay in my own collection!
